Concept
Belle Isle straddles the line between a short narrative and an experimental film, leaning more towards the latter.
Our film's nonlinear structure is reminiscent of works like The Bell Jar, Le Scaphandre Et Le Papillon, and Memento. We employ EMDR light therapy as an entry point into our main character's mind, using imagination as a tool to reprocess and release experiences she wishes to forget.
Story
Belle Isle follows Jessica, a woman grappling with unspoken pain, as she navigates her identity and past traumas. Through the lens of Emdr light therapy, the film delves into Jessica's journey of confronting childhood trauma and breaking free from haunting memories.
A poignant exploration of memory and healing, Belle Isle offers an intimate portrayal of one woman's quest for liberation.
